I would like to thank the Buffalo Soldiers, San Diego Chapter, members Big Ben, Pharoah and Vader for partipating in our 10th Annual Blanket Run in Pasadena, California. With setting up at Central Park, I was late arriving at Glendale Harley. Someone said to me Buffalo Soldiers are here and I turned to see the Buffalo Soldiers' patch on Big Ben. It was just an awesome site. I was so proud and overjoyed. I had not seen that patch in a long time. (National Bikers Roundup usually) I introduced myself and they were perfect gentlemen. This was their first attendance at our Run and everyone thought they were the Buffalo Soldiers, Los Angeles Chapter. These guys are already tall. I think they grew 2 inches in explaining the differance. You shoud have been there. The history of the Blanket Run started in 2000, when Dr Yvonne "Isis" Palmer and myself wanted some type of charity run that is differant. We decided upon a Blanket Run. In July of that year, she went down on her bike in Arizona, traveling to Texas National Bikers Roundup. She passed away doing something that she loved. It was a great loss to everybody and life goes on. So we were determine that there would be a Blanket Run in her honor and so it was born. I need to explain that my club, the Blazers and Buffalo Soldiers, Los Angeles Chapter, hosted the Blanket Run for 8 years together. My club parted with the Los Angeles Chapter in 2007. They have their Blanket Run in Los Angeles and we have ours in Pasadena and life goes on. Enough of history, let's get to the ride. After our prayer, I geared up to ride. I was parked across from the Soldiers. I prayed again that my shovel would start. It has a mind of its own. Starts and leaks oil when it whats to. My prayers were answer. As I was riding with the all men pack, I looked back in my mirror and saw all 3 Soldiers behind me. Let me just say, I ride like I am always mad but not that day. I was cheezing all the way to Pasadena. It was a pure BLAST! The ride was to short. That day I could have ridden to the end of the world. No lie. Also, I would like to especially thank Ken Coleman, President, Buffalo Soldiers, Sacramento Chapter. Congra on your newly appointed position. Without him, I would not be up at 1:30 a.m. thanking the Buffalo Soldiers, San Diego Chapter, for a wonderful and blessed day. Thank you Cathy "Cat" Mabry President Blazers M/C
