Re: Current Condition of Lonnie Easter after Motorcycle Accident June 21, 2010
As most of you are already aware, our Brother Buffalo Soldier, Lonnie Easter, was involved in a motorcycle accident on Monday, June 21, 2010. He was just leaving base around noon on his way to lunch when making a left hand turn a truck ran a red light and hit Lonnie.
Lonnie sustained left jaw, left arm and left hip injuries in which he underwent immediate surgery to put back in-line. He is scheduled for further surgery today in an effort to mend and sustain his broken bones. We were informed yesterday after tests were complete, that he did not suffer brain or any other organ damage. His prognosis looks good as Lonnie has been taken off a breathing tube in which he required after being brought into the hospital.
The BSMC, San Diego would like to thank all who have inquired and we have let Lonnie know of all the love and support we have received on his behalf. His Brother Soldiers have been going back and forth to the hospital to keep up with his condition as well as be there for any possible needs. Fortunately, he does not seem to remember anything about the accident. Lonnie is resting comfortable in the care of good Doctors as well as in as good of spirits as possible at this time.
Due to restrictions in the ICU he is unable to receive any flower or gifts at this time. Once he is transferred back into the military health care system I will provide the appropriate address for those that wish to express their thoughtfulness in that capacity.
