I was born in Manhattan, New York and moved to California with my parents when I was 2 years old. I am the oldest of 6 children. I joined the military in 1994 serving7 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Discharged in 2001, I went back to school for a wide range of degrees. An Associate’s degree in Forensic Science, Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and an Associate’s degree in Nursing. I currently work as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for Sharp Healthcare (Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns). I am continuing my education at the University of Phoenix obtaining a Master’s of Science in Nursing. My goal is to have my Nurse Practitioner before 2015 so that I will become a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I am the proud mother of two beautiful children (6 year old Sydney Christine, 4 year old Sean David). I have been an Associate Member of the BSMCSD since 2010. Being a member of this organization allows me to be able to work within my community as well as outside; bringing awareness to what the BSMCSD stands for as well as helping those that are less fortunate.
